Every nomination shaped the story of where Liverpool’s tech sector is heading. We unveiled the Official List and Ones to Watch List to the Tech Climbers community at this year’s List Reveal Event, and the winners were published with UKTN across its national audience.

Our lists not only bring visibility to ambitious businesses starting their journey, but they also showcase to investors the level of ambition and talent present across the Liverpool City Region. The entrant data also tells a story of successes and challenges that founders face, and how the tech ecosystem can work together to propel aspiring tech businesses and connect them with the right support.

Accredited as the third European Capital of Innovation at the end of 2025 and backed by the newly launched Liverpool City Region Growth Plan, the region is set to attract significant investment into its most innovative tech businesses.   
  
The rich history of creativity and a powerful network of universities and innovation is what makes Liverpool one of the UK’s most exciting tech hubs. Over the past five Tech Climbers campaigns in Liverpool, we’ve seen powerful initiatives such as Baltic Ventures move to the area to provide much-needed investment and accelerator support for local startups.   
  
The entrants and nominations for this year’s campaign brought a new level of ambition, with purposeful innovations spanning across tech domains. It was no easy job for our partners to determine which startups and scale-ups take a limited space on our two lists, but the entrant data revealed that this has been a year defined by ambition.
